Josie Gibson treating I’m A Celebrity stint as ‘weight loss retreat’ as she lands in Australia – Mirror Online

Josie Gibson joked about treating her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! stint as a ‘weight loss retreat’ as she touched down in Australia.

The This Morning presenter was the third star to land Down Under ahead of the show’s premiere on November 19. The former Big Brother star arrived after Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage and social media influencer Nella Rose had confirmed they were heading for camp.

Walking through arrivals, the 38-year-old told The Mirror that she was ‘excited’ to be in the country as she never visited before. Josie said: “I’m really excited to be here in Australia, I have never been here before. What am I scared of? I’m here for a weight loss retreat so I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Josie has been a fan-favourite since she rose to fame on Big Brother in 2010. The star, who won the show, secured a whopping 77.5 percent of the public vote making her one of the most popular contestants of all time. It’s because of this that it’s no surprise she became the bookies’ favourite to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

She first began appearing on This Morning as a competition announcer in 2019 and once again proved a hit with TV viewers. She is now an established co-presenter on the show and following Phillip Schofield’s departure has been steadily getting more and more days fronting the show.

Rumours are rife that the cast for the 23rd season of the long-running reality show could include some huge names. As fans speculate, Dec has been seen taking his family out for a curry ahead of the start of rehearsals. Meanwhile, pal Ant McPartlin was pictured landing Down Under on Saturday evening and teased an ‘incredible cast’ this year.

The pair are set to start rehearsing on-site with ‘guinea pig’ volunteers who will act as contestants. Dec, 48, will co-present I’m A Celebrity with Ant McPartlin for the show’s 23rd edition, starting on Sunday 19th November at 9pm.

Celebrities from the world of daytime TV, pop stardom and even politics have signed up to take part in the gruelling reality series – with the pressure on to make this year as successful as the last, that saw disgraced MP Matt Hancock and Lioness Jill Scott go head to head for the jungle crown. Days before the series’ launch on November 19 at 9pm, the show’s first contestant has landed in Australia to prepare for his stint in the jungle.

There have only been three confirmed stars for the new series so far, but rumours swirled about jockey Frankie Dettori joining the show as he was spotted in Australia earlier this week. Soap legends, a JLS star, a drag queen and various sports stars have also been linked to the upcoming season of the show.
