John Goodman has stuck to the goals he set for himself 16 years ago.
The “Conners” star flaunted his 200-pound weight loss Sunday while attending the 2023 Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco.
Goodman, 70, looked dapped in a fitted navy blue suit jacket, which he paired with beige trousers and a white dress shirt.
The actor, who served as the jury president at the festival, completed his red-carpet ensemble with a patterned yellow tie, dark sunglasses and brown loafers.
Goodman began his physical transformation in 2007 when his weight hit 400 pounds.
“In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits,” he told ABC in 2017.
“This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.”
The “Roseanne” alum stopped drinking alcohol entirely and hired a personal trainer to keep him moving.
“It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you’re going to eat next,” Goodman told People in 2010.
“I wanted to live life better,” he added.
The Emmy winner started following a Mediterranean-style diet — meals that comprise mostly of fish, olive oil, vegetables, nuts and fruit — and increased his baseline fitness by taking at least 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day.
“This didn’t happen overnight — it’s been an ongoing process,” fitness guru Mackie Shilstone once said of his client’s progress.
Goodman first revealed he had shed 100 pounds at the “Trumbo” premiere in 2015.
“It was basically just portion control and ‘I don’t need it,’” he explained to AARP in 2018.
“I was just shoving everything into my mouth.”
