Jelly Roll Finds “Will To Live” After 45-50 Pound Weight Loss: “I Feel Incredible”

Fans have seen a change in Jelly Roll in recent months, as the star has lost a noticeable amount of weight. Reflecting on his journey while speaking to Fox News Digital on the red carpet at the 2023 CMA Awards earlier this month, the country star shared that his weight loss is positively benefiting his mental health. “I don’t even have a goal when it comes to health,” he explained. “I just want to keep doing the right thing and feeling better. I’m starting to find a will to live, and I want to lean into that, that’s it. I just want to be happier.” Jelly Roll added, “Weight is normally directly related to mental health, so I’m trying to get that under control and the rest is following that. I’ve been working out. I’ve been losing weight, slowly but surely. I’m about 45-50 (pounds) down coming off tour, walking into the CMAs.” Focusing On His Health Focusing On His Health

The 39-year-old has been open about his desire to lose weight, telling Music Mayhem in December of last year that he wanted to focus on his health in 2023. “I’m going to spend the first couple months of the year just focusing on family and health,” he said. “I lost some weight this year in 2022, but in 2023 I wanna finally conquer the demon. I don’t leave for a big tour until about the middle of the year. So I plan on taking the first half of the year to tighten the album up and get some work in.” “I got a guy, man,” he added of his plan to start working on his fitness. “I’m [about to] start working with my boy, who owns a gym in Brentwood, and we’re [gonna] start getting after it at the top of the year.” In February, Jelly Roll gave fans an update on his goal prior to the start of his headlining Backroad Baptism Tour. “Just know that I’m doing my part — I’m working out daily… praying and meditating …. Eating better — losing weight,” he shared on X. “Making sure I bring the best version of me on my new album and this tour… this what growth and gratitude look like in real time.” In August, the Tennessee native revealed that he had lost 23 pounds so far while out on tour, sharing the news in a video featuring his nutritionist, Ian Larios. “Another successful weigh in for Jelly Roll, just past the two-week mark. So far on this tour, he has lost 23 pounds,” Larios said in the clip. Motivating CMA Awards Speech Motivating CMA Awards Speech

Along with his weight loss, Jelly Roll motivated fans in a different way with the inspiring speech he delivered when he won New Artist of the Year at the CMAs on November 8. “There’s something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning new artist of the year,” he told the crowd. “I don’t know where you’re at in your life or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you to keep going, baby. I want to tell you success is on the other side of it [and] I want to tell you it’s going to be OK [and] I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason because what’s in front of you is so much more important than what’s behind you. Let’s party, Nashville.” The “Need A Favor” singer had even more to celebrate a few days later when the 2024 Grammy nominations were announced. Jelly Roll is up for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me,” his collaboration with Lainey Wilson.
