A couple went on a dramatic weight loss journey after watching an episode of themselves on A Place In The Sun and realising how fat they had become.
Lisa and Paul Sanderson, from Barnsley, appeared on the Channel 4 show to find themselves a holiday home in Spain and teamed up with presenter Jasmine Harman for their search in Torrevieja.
They eventually found thesemlves a £72,500 three-bedroom bungalow on the Costa Blanca and after bagging the keys, they then excitedly sat down to watch the episode, which aired on TV three months later.
However, their excitment soon turned to shock as they were stunned at their appearance, reports the Daily Star.

Security supervisor Paul, 47, said: “We watched ourselves on TV and were shocked. We said some of the timber needed to go, and we weren’t talking about the house we’d just bought.”
Mum-of-three Lisa, 49, who had already battled breast cancer prior to the filming of the show in 2019, said: “I knew I had struggled with my weight since the chemotherapy, but seeing us both looking like that on screen made me know we had to do something.
“We both looked at each other and said, ‘Oh my word, something has to change here’.”
After watching the episode, the pair joined Weight Watchers and cut out a lot of junk food in their diets. They also spent time doing exercise and together they have lost almost 12 stone.
Lisa, who was 17.2st is now just 10st, whereas Paul went from 16.5st to 12st.
Lisa said: “Both Paul and I feel better than we ever have done, and it has all been down to a wake-up call from seeing us on TV.”
A spokesman for A Place In The Sun said: “Lisa and Paul are a lovely couple and we are so happy their lives have been transformed by the past 12 months.”
